FINE ARTIST MADE

It’s been a long hot summer in Brooklyn (and in much of the world from what I hear). Too hot for blogging! It’s been a while. But I’ll be in Maine soon, the kayaks are rented and my friend Lucy Benjamin and her kids have signed on for a camping trip to Acadia Park. In a Maine mood, I wanted to share this story on Fine Artist Made, a company owned by Patrick Mealey and Joyce Jackson who used to own a restoration business in the Hamptons.

The couple is now living in Perry, Maine (way up there!) where they are restoring an 1890s farmhouse. Their business is designing kitchen and bath cabinets and simple, lovely wood furniture which is available on their Etsy site. I especially love their Mini-Gourmet Cabinet which would be such a perfect showcase for the Plum Vanilla jam (from Christine Ferber’s Mes Confitures book) that I made yesterday as a way of using up several dozen Shiro plums from my CSA basket. Meanwhile you can check out the story of Patrick and Joyce’s restoration on their blog. The website is http://www.fineartistmade.com/. And their Etsy store is here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/fineartistmade
